About me.

I’m Domagoj, a computing graduate who enjoys turning complex problems into practical tools.

My experience spans data engineering, business intelligence and human-centered research. What connects them is an interest in understanding not only how a system works, but who it helps and what decisions it makes possible.

I hold a master’s degree in Computing from the University of Rijeka. Along the way, I’ve worked with scientific data, built tools for workforce planning, and explored how interface design influences the choices people make.

Making data dependable

I worked on scientific-data integrations and recovery pipelines, alongside SQL and reporting troubleshooting. That experience taught me to look beyond whether a pipeline is running: is the data complete, and can we recover what was missed?

Connecting reports to real decisions

During my Schuman traineeship, I led an internal skills-management initiative from requirements and planning through development and deployment. Working with stakeholders, I connected Excel, Power Query and Power BI to support conversations about expertise, skill gaps and workforce planning.

Understanding the person using the system

For my thesis, I built two e-commerce applications and studied how dark patterns affect behavior and decision-making. It reinforced my interest in the human side of technology: the way we present a choice matters as much as whether the interface works.

How I work

Understand the need. Build something useful.

I like taking ownership of a problem, asking questions before jumping to a solution, and keeping the people affected involved. I value simple, maintainable tools and clear explanations of the decisions behind them.

This portfolio follows the same approach. Each project makes an idea tangible, while building the site has been a practical way to learn modern web development and work thoughtfully with AI-assisted tools.

Let’s start a conversation.
